Call for works 2020


The eviMus Festival and the KuBa – Kulturzentrum am EuroBahnhof present the "7. Saarbrücker Tage für elektroakustische und visuelle Musik" in Saarbrücken (Germany).  The eviMus Festival is a four-day festival focusing on new music in all of its forms. All events are free and open to the public. All composers, regardless of nationality, age or career stage, are invited to apply. Since the number of applications exceeds the places available, there will be a selection process.
     
The submitted works must fulfill the following requirements:
     

1. Category A - Fixed media:
Four channel up to eight channel works for fixed media (Format: WAV or AIFF files, 44,1 kHz, 24 bits). Stereo works are not going to be considered.

2. Category B - Instrument/electronic:
Solo instrument or small ensemble (up to four players) and fixed media or live electronics (stereo or more channels).

Only Works for:
1 player: Saz
and/or
1 player: Santoor
and/or
1 player: Ney
and/or
1 player: Pan flute, kena, kenacho, charango, cuatro
and
electronic are eligible.

3. Category C - Video:
Works for video and music are eligible (stereo or more channels).

4. Category D - Installation:
Sound Installations and Interactive Media (composer has to provide all non-standard equipment).

Composers can submit several works (but only one work per composer will be included in the concerts). Works which last 8 minutes or less are preferred; no work should exceed 10 minutes.

The participation in the Call for Works implies the acceptance of our privacy policy.

The application has to comprise the following documents/files:

2. Curriculum vitae or bio (Word or PDF)

3. Description of the idea of your work (program notes and summary information about electronics - Word or PDF).

4. Link (Soundcloud, Youtube, Vimeo, etc) containing a stereo version of the piece (Category A, B or C),

and/or

PDF file with the score for instrument(s) and electronic (Category B),

and/or

Documentation with Fotos (with link) or/and Video (with link Vimeo or Youtube), etc. - (Category D)

At the "7. Saarbrücker Tage für elektroakustiche und visuelle Musik" there will also be room for discussions about the relation between music, technology and society. Everyone is welcome to participate. In order to organize these discussion-related sessions conveniently, everyone is welcome to submit papers with hypotheses, ideas or proposals. Also discussions of submitted works are appreciated.

Processing personal data in the context of Call for Work applications of the 'Saarbrücker Tage für elektroakustische und visuelle Musik':
Personal data collected during the application process will only be used to carry out the event (especially for the selection process, presentation of the candidates, press releases, promotion of the event, presentation of the artist and its works during the event and execution of all remaining measures necessary for carrying out the event). Legal basis is article 6 paragraph 1 lit. b and f GDPR.

Deadline for applications (Category A, C and D): 31th July 2020 31th August 2020

Deadline for applications (Category B): 1st July 2020  1st August 2020

End of selection process and notification: 1st September 2020 

Final deadline for all performance material: 15th September 2020
Composers will be notified of the results by e-mail.
